How to install Python


Python is a powerful high level, object oriented language which has simple easy- to- use syntax. So if you are a beginner or an experienced software author you can benefit yourself by this versatile tool.


In late 1980s, Guido van who was working on Amoeba distributed operating system and wanted to use an interpreted language ABC which is capable of accessing the Amoeba system calls, so he created an extensible new language Python which was implemented in December 1989 at CWI (Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica) in Netherlands.
Though Python creation is credited to Guido van Rossumbut behind these powerfullanguage there were many hands who contributed to these language. In May 2000, python core development team moved to to form BeOpenPythonLabs team. With the transition of these software is readily available as an open source which can be use all over the world. After an year in 2001, PSF( Python Software Foundation) was created
Python is an open source program developed under an OSI licence. It is absolutely free of charge .You can download, install and run the program with no cost issues on any computer. The software supports 21 different operating system and is avalaible in many different forms.
Downloading steps
If you are a new user and do not have Python installed on your computer then click on the following link to download Python
Step 1

You are on the download page you can select and choose the latest version for your windows. Here for these article we are using Python 2.7.13
As soon as you click on Download Python 2.7.13 it will take a moment and your set up is downloaded and you are ready to install it now

As you will click on the downloaded file python- 2.7.13.msi a Python 2.7.13 Setup popup box will open

en select the option “Install for all users”but if you have multiple accounts on your computer and want it to be installed on a particular account then choose the alternative option “ Install just for me” and click on the” Next” button to proceed further.
As soon as you will click on “Next” button a popup box will appear where you can change the install location according to your need but it’s better to keep it as it is and then click the “Next” button.

Step 3

After clicking “Next” button a box pops up where you can change the sequence of the features to be installed and then click on “Next” button.

Step 4

On pressing next button a box pops up which will show the status of installation and simultaneously a User Account Control will open which will ask the program to install software on this computer if you click on “No” button then the whole installation will be interrupted and the process will come to an end so click on “Yes” button to continue the installation process.

Step 6

After clicking on “Yes” button there will be transition in the status and then automatically a pop up box will appear where you need to click on the “Finish” button and hence your python 2.7.13 version is successfully downloaded as well as installed on your computer.

Step 7

Adding python to system path variable
As we have choose the python 2.7.13 version we need to follow these steps to add system path variable to python this will allow Python to run scripts on your computer without any interruption. For this we need to follow the following steps
Go to “My Computer” or “This PC” and right click on it and then click on “Properties”

As soon as you click on “Properties” a “System” box will pops up where u have to click on “Advanced system settings”

A “System Properties” box will appear there you need to click on “Environment Variables”

Step 10

On clicking “Environment Variables” button an “Environment Variables” box will pop up. Here, you need to focus on the second half portion on “System variables” you need to click “New” button to create new variable for python.

On clicking on “New” a “New System Variable” box will pop up in which you need to describe the “Variable name” and “Variable value”.
In Variable name type “PATH” and in Variable value you need to give three different values ended by semicolon(;)
The first string you need to enter is C:\Python27;

For the second string in variable value you need to double click on Scripts.

And then copy the path from here and paste it in variable value. So the second string is: C:\Python27\Scripts;

For the third string go back and select and double click “Tools”

Then select and double click on “Scripts”.

After that copy and paste the path as third string in Variable value as: C:\Python27\Tools\Scripts;

Hence in “Variable value” the whole string is as follows: C:\Python27;C:\Python27\Scripts;C:\Python27\Tools\Scripts;

After describing the Variable name and variable value click on “OK” button of “New System Variable”.

Then click on “Ok” of “Environment Variables”

At last, click on “Ok” button of “System Properties”.

Now open command prompt and type python — version ,it will display which version you are using .
Then just type python and perform the various operations like addition subtraction and many more functions and operations .if your output is successfully displayed means that you have successfully installed python, added the environment variables and executed the various operations.
